Bhumi Pednekar looking forward to a clean and green Diwali

Bhumi Pednekar is a terrific actress on-screen and off-screen the diva is one alert citizen who’s always taking rightful steps to conserve nature. This year due to the pandemic, firecrackers reportedly have been banned in several parts of the country. To take forward this initiative, Bhumi Pednekar is aiming for a clean and green Diwali.

Firecrackers and fireworks surely affect nature. To make sure to bring a slight change in her own way possible, Bhumi Pednekar plans to gift plant saplings to her industry friends. Speaking to a leading daily, the actress said, “While I love the spirit of the festival, I thought of changing the way I gift people. This year, I am gifting saplings in earthen pots, with the packaging made from jute and biodegradable materials. This way, we will add more plants to the world.”

The actress has been working as a climate warrior amidst the lockdown to make the masses alert of the hazardous changes nature is undergoing. Bhumi Pednekar leaves no stone unturned to bring small changes that can bring a slight relief to nature, “With each passing year, we hear about species getting extinct, wildfires raging across the globe, and ice caps melting, which is all leading to ecological imbalances in nature. I want people to understand that climate change is real.”
