Selena Gomez Proudly Shows Her Kidney Transplant Scar As She Poses In La Mariette Bathing Suits

Selena Gomez is proudly showing off her kidney transplant scar and she’s doing so while helping out a friend. Selena’s fans know that she launched Rare Beauty over the summer and her best friend, Theresa Mingus, launched her own swimsuit company — La’ Mariette. Selena is helping out Theresa by modeling several swimsuits and sharing the photos on social media. Not only is Selena bringing awareness to the La’ Mariette swimwear line, but she’s also delivering a powerful message about self-acceptance.

Selena shared a photo of herself wearing the Selena One Piece bathing suit (yes, Theresa named the swimsuit after her BFF) and the photo is going viral. The bathing suit retails for about $120 and has a zipper front. Selena posed in the suit that is available in four colors. Selena wore a pale blue shade called “playdate.”

Not only did Selena look stunning in the swimsuit as she posed outside and stood barefoot on large rocks and stone steps, but she also made certain the public could see the long scar that ran alongside the inner portion of her leg.

Selena opened up about showing off the scar in the photo’s caption. She stated the following.

When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful.
